Where Do I Fit In?

NCIDQ’s members are U.S. state boards and Canadian provincial associations that regulate the profession of interior design. Membership is not available to individuals. Interior designers who have met NCIDQ’s eligibility requirements for education and training and passed the NCIDQ Examination are not NCIDQ members; they are NCIDQ Certificate holders.

  • Student – Still in school, considering or pursuing education in interior design
  • Working Toward Eligibility – Fulfilling the education and work requirements for applying to take the NCIDQ Examination
  • Exam Candidate – Preparing to take the test after acceptance of your NCIDQ Examination application
  • Certificate Holder – Seeking professional development and service opportunities after passing the NCIDQ Examination
  • Member of the Public – Interested in learning more about interior design qualifications, responsibilities and opportunities
  • Employer – Seeking to hire highly qualified interior design professionals
  • Educator – Providing interior design education and programs
  • Media Representative – Developing news reports and features on issues related to interior design
