WASHINGTON, DC—The National Council for Interior Design Qualification, Inc. (NCIDQ) announces its
Board of Directors for 2011. The Board, made up primarily of interior designers, ensures NCIDQ’s mission of protecting the health, life safety and welfare of the public by establishing standards of competence in the practice of interior design are upheld.
The NCIDQ Board of Directors is made up of seven interior designers and one public member, each elected by NCIDQ’s Council of Delegates. The Board ensures NCIDQ’s mission of protecting the health, life safety and welfare of the public is upheld. NCIDQ protects the public by establishing standards of competence in interior design and qualifying interior designers through a practice-based examination, which culminates in the NCIDQ Certificate. This credential proves that the individual has met the standards for education, experience and examination and can form the basis for licensure in regulated jurisdictions in North America. Every interior designer on the Board has passed the NCIDQ Examination and earned the NCIDQ Certificate.
The 2011 NCIDQ President is Patty Blaser, an interior designer from Lincroft, New Jersey. Mary Jane Grigsby, an interior designer from Arden, North Carolina, will serve as President-Elect, and Kimberly Marks, an interior designer from San Antonio, Texas, will serve as Past President. Serving with them are the four interior designers: Lovejoy Duryea (New York, New York), Victoria Horobin (Toronto, Ontario), John Klai (Las Vegas, Nevada), and Laurie McRae (Augusta, Georgia), as well as the Public Member, Cynthia Allen (Alexandria, Virginia).
